Environment, Climate Change Preservation, and Protection
AMRDO recognizes the critical importance of addressing the issue of climate change and preserving the environment for the well-being of current and future generations. Climate change poses significant threats to our planet, including rising sea levels, more intense natural disasters, and changes in temperature and precipitation patterns. To tackle these pressing environmental challenges, AMRDO has taken a proactive approach by implementing innovative initiatives that prioritize the preservation and protection of the environment and climate.
The organization believes that by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and investing in energy efficiency and conservation measures, we can make a positive impact on our climate. AMRDO has implemented projects on renewable energy alternatives, including solar and wind power, with the aim of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. The organization also seeks to increase the resilience of communities to climate change by investing in green infrastructure, such as green roofs, urban forests, and green spaces.
In partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-GEF), AMRDO has implemented the SLMP-III project in the districts of Umerkot, Jamshoro, and Tharparkar Sindh. The aim of the project is to promote sustainable management of land and other natural resources in the desert regions of Sindh province, restore degraded ecosystems, reduce poverty, and increase resilience to climate change.
With the support of Muslim Charity, AMRDO has ongoing projects on solar energy for poor households, irrigation/water pumping, power supply, and capacity building initiatives. These projects aim to build AMRDO’s capacity in renewable energy and to develop high-impact projects that prioritize the preservation and protection of the environment and climate.
Through these innovative initiatives, AMRDO aims to educate and raise awareness about the significance of preserving and protecting the environment, promoting sustainable practices, and reducing our impact on the planet. The organization is committed to playing a critical role in tackling the environmental challenges of our time and working towards a greener, more sustainable future for all.
